How much difference one day can make.  Last night I was laying here asking myself the same old questions...am I on the right path for my career, my family, my health? I know that everyone out there has those days that everything seems to be in a standstill, you are not wanting to stay in the same pattern day after day, month after month, year after year, but something seems to be holding you there.  You can go out and get a new look, purchase new items, but at the end of the day you are back to square one.

This year I have done a lot of growing within myself, I have gone out on a limb and started advertising for my business, I am now trying to turn every event into a positive experience, and I am surrounding myself with amazing friends that I can grow with. We have joined the YMCA and I am attended at least two classes a week with my friend.  Things are really starting to line up for me, and the pieces that I feel I have not been reaching far enough for unfolded today.

First of all, I have declared December as "Boot Camp Month"   We are now taking the boot camp class at the YMCA every M,W and F for the whole month of Dec.

Second of all, I have decided to expand my business even further with an idea that I will keep you posted on its progress.  This is exciting to me because it adds a touch of  whimsy to my nursery and toddler rooms!

Lastly my husband and I have finally decided to take the Dave Ramsey course that all of my friends are taking with  great success!  I am excited to be turning over this new leaf and to be headed in the right direction with financial knowledge!!

Here is a quote that was in my husband's inbox today after my night of questioning...

A very good career choice would be to gravitate toward those activities and to embrace those desires that harmonize with your core intentions, which are freedom and growth—and joy. Make a "career" of living a happy life rather than trying to find work that will produce enough income that you can do things with your money that will then make you happy. When feeling happy is of paramount importance to you—and what you do "for a living" makes you happy—you have found the best of all combinations.

I am guessing that today your life will be a lot like mine....kids back to school and you and your spouse back to work, or whatever your arrangement is.  I am hoping that you all had a great Thanksgiving and are getting ready to take on the next big event..Christmas!!   In hopes of  revamping before the holiday season my friend and I arranged a ladies night, well day, out!  We sent out the invite to about 6 or 7 ladies to meet at a local restaurant and make our way over to the movies.  Out of all of these women, her and I were the only two that were able to break away from our responsibilities and have some time for ourselves!  Although we were sorry that everyone else missed out we had an amazing time.  We started the day at noon, and I did not make it back home until about 8 pm. We had lunch and then watched The Blind Side, best movie I have seen in a long time, followed by New Moon.  It was a much needed chance to get out without all the little ones, get glammed up, and eat anything and everything we wanted!!!!  So here is my challenge: all of you amazing people need to take an afternoon out before all of the shopping and excitement of the holidays and just have some fun with a close friend!!!  Always make time for yourself and don't take life or yourself to seriously!!  Instead Enjoy it!!!!

Hope that everyone had an amazing Thanksgiving with their families!!! We had a wonderful time with my husband's extended family.

For weigh in Friday I have a quote from my six year old!!!

While watching a tour of England's hot spots on TV they showed a place to dine and to ballroom dance.  The floor was covered with elderly couples spinning about.  My daughter shouts out " Oh My Gosh, can old people dance even with a stick!?!"  She was talking about a cane!!! I love to hear what comes out of their mouths!!!

What has your little one said lately that has had you ROFL!?!

We are completely moved in!!!!  We were able to make the move to the bigger apartment on Thursday instead of Friday!  That was a great thing because it rained here all day on Friday.  My husband and I with the help of my Father-n-law and our friend Ellis were able to get 95% of the moving done on Thursday with only 2 loads left on Friday.  We set it up piece by piece this time in its correct and final place as we made the move loading all of bookcases etc.  This was time consuming, but was worth it.  We are now completely set up curtains hung, pictures up and laundry going!!!!  Here are a few of the pics!!!!  Thank you to all that helped we appreciate it.....

Every Friday night my husband and I have camp out night with our daughter, this past Friday my husband and I had the privilege of walking around Toys R Us for over an hour with our child's gift card. After all of the shopping my husband wanted in on the enjoyment of the tent......I thought this had had to be seen!!

Box read:  Child's pop-up indoor tent ages 3 and up......Should this be given an end age?

I have always loved the saying "Love grows best in little houses", but I think I may have met my match!!! Since my husband got out of the military two years ago we will have moved 3 time by the end of this week!!! The first move was from our Virginia home to a Florida condo. The next move was from a Fl condo to a TX, 860 square ft apartment.....The next move you ask is about a 300ft move from the 860 square ft apartment to a 1060 square ft apartment in the same complex.
To give you a little back history, we moved here to Texas about 7 months ago and in the act of saving money, I decided to cram my husband and daughter into a 860 square foot apartment!!!! This choice, not only about cost me my sanity, but it is requiring me to move again!!!!! So this week we are packing up our things to walk them over to the new apartment. Get this we are only signing a 6 month lease.
What would make some one do this you may be wondering, I can sum it up to you in a brief explanation.......

1) You can literally eat dinner at the dining room table, or watch tv without moving from the same recliner!

2)My husband has to turn sideways to enter the closet or the bathroom because his shoulders are wider than the door frame!

3) We have a walk through galley kitchen that we can not pass each other in, or find a counter to place our prep or prepared dishes on!

4)My absolute favorite........I can answer the front door, watch TV and be on the computer without ever getting up from my kitchen chair!!!!!

So although I love the saying "Love grows best in little houses" I now believe that they may need to put a square footage and size ratio limit on it!!! :)

I want to make Friday's a day for user weigh ins!!! I have a lot of questions and would love to have you all weigh in with your answers and suggestions :)

My question today comes from the weekly grocery store trip. I have a family of 3 and can not seem to get out of the store for under 180.00!!!! This is whether I go to Wal-Mart or my favorite local store HEB. I feel like I am spending way too much at the store for three people, but I just can't seem to get the bill down!!!

Does anyone have any cost saving ideas on food for my family and for others? Let us know just how savvy you are!!!!

In everyday life we hear people say the word designer about clothing and home furnishings, and we immediately associate it with high cost.  Does this always have to be the case?  What is it that actually makes one outfit look better than another, or one room look better than another?  I believe it is in the way you piece it together and the confidence that you feel either wearing the item or showing off you room.

I am attaching a grouping of pictures and I would like you to guess how much this cost.

This room was done by gift cards!!!  The out of pocket cost for the client was 5 dollars!!!  We had 100.00 at Target, 80.00 at Wal-Mart and 20.00 at Lowes!  I designed the room and the client had her artistic daughter paint the walls!!!!

Christmas is right around the corner, gift cards will be flowing in, maybe this time you should put them towards the room you have always dreamed of!!!

Hello fellow bloggers Let me start by saying:

Happy Veterans Day to everyone out there who has served, is serving or has paid the ultimate price. We thank you!!!!

It seems like the perfect day for me to start blogging, since the business I am now running spun from from the military terms that my husband and I served with the United States Coast Guard. While he was away on various shipboard deployments and I stayed at home with our daughter I decided I needed to do something for myself. My company Design With Your Dime in Mind was started to do just that. To chase a dream and to bring beautiful designs into the "average family's" homes.

Being prior military I understand the value of money and just how long that span between the 1st and 15th paychecks can seem. I also understand that the constant uprooting of your family can cause a lot of hardships and struggles. To me, pouring my heart and soul into my homes interior seemed to give me a sense of pride and control with the changes that we faced. Although the military sends you where the military needs you at the time, you can control what surrounds you when you walk through the door.

From these experiences my passion quickly became "Budget" Interior Decorating and Design. My business has now grown and is taking on a new challenge of Online Interior Decorating!
Now no matter where you are living, currently stationed, etc, I can help you design your room through emailed photos, software and phone calls to make your dream rooms come to life! Please check out my website at Design With Your Dime In Mind.com and continue to follow for pictures and insights into my business and my everyday life. I am excited to share my life and chase my dreams with you!!!!

Please feel free to leave comments and post your own dreams and ambitions!!!! I am also on Twitter at @DWYDiM and feel free to fan my page on Facebook.
